The 15 Canadian AI startups completed a custom delivery of Amii’s Level Up program.
Amii’s inaugural Level Up health track has wrapped! Launched a year ago with backing from the CAN Health Network and BoxOne Ventures, this cohort received the first-ever custom delivery of the Level Up program, designed to help Canadian startups accelerate AI integration. While primarily focused on transforming health tech, biotech, and life sciences, the group also welcomed a few standout startups from other industries.
Through this domain-specific track, fifteen startups from across Canada gained access to a fully sponsored experience valued at $10,000. The program provided mentorship from Amii’s machine learning scientists, quarterly deep dives with domain experts, and expanded industry networks—including talent support through eight Amii Work-Integrated Learning Opportunity (WILO) placements.

ER Innovation in Action with EmergConnect
Navigating overcrowded waiting rooms and complex triage procedures often turns emergency room visits into confusing, high-stress ordeals. For overworked frontline staff, managing this constant influx makes delivering timely, compassionate care an uphill battle.
EmergConnect, a startup based in Thornhill, Ontario aims to change that. Their digital platform provides seamless, human-centered support designed to streamline patient intake and relieve pressure in high-volume emergency departments.
Over the past year, Amii’s mentorship provided the expertise EmergConnect needed to transform its automated triage model. With this technical guidance, EmergConnect boosted model accuracy to 84%, expanded categorization capabilities, and streamlined intake performance. Ultimately, the collaboration contributed to the model currently being deployed in multiple hospitals.
